What Else:  The selections of fiction, non-fiction, self-help, craft booklets, magazines, videos, cds, dvds, puzzles, etc. are good and the prices start at 25 cents.  Many like new hard back books will be included with higher prices.  When the doors open, be there for the best choices.

 

What:  Summer Outdoor Movie ‘Finding Nemo’

What:  3rd Annual Independence County Humane Society Doggie Pool Party Fundraiser

Where:  Mickey Mouse Pool, 1990 Harrison Street, Batesville

What Else:  Bring your dog and let them enjoy the dog days of summer at the city pool!  1 dog admission is a $5 donation or more a $10 donation for multiple dogs.  They will be offering hot dogs, chips and sodas.  If you would like to participate, but don’t have a dog to bring, you can choose a fun-seeking, water-loving shelter dog to play with.  Since this year the pool party falls on Patriot Day, the most ‘patriotic’ dog and dog owner will be awarded appropriately!  For more information, call 870-793-0090.

 

What:  Izard County Master Gardeners Fall Plant Sale

Where:  Izard County Fairgrounds, Melbourne

What:  Hutchinson Mountain Church of Christ Annual Patriotic Dinner and Program

Where:  Hutchinson Mountain Community Center

What Else:  This program is to honor our country and remembering those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01.  They will also honor local men and women who serve as rescue workers, firefighters, law enforcement personnel and active and former military personnel who have devoted their lives to our community’s security and protection.  A hamburger and hot dog cookout will be provided, followed by the program.  A special musical program will also be presented by ‘White County Bluegrass.’  To make reservations or for more information at 870-251-2616.
